![]() Hello, hopefully this will be my only thread on these forums (not meant in a bad way). I've been searching the forums and didn't see any threads dealing with my problem, so I decided to register just to post a thread asking for some answers. Anyways, the past two updates I've been through with LW have caused it to say something along the lines of "Limewire is unable to load prior downloads" upon starting up the new version. So, all my downloads that were pending were left to rot in the incomplete folder, as I was unable to find most of them using new searches. Now, with this new update out, I just had a few questions. 1) Is this normal for LW? 2) Since I wasn't experiencing the problem this update purports to solve, (LW freezing during download) is it safe to just ignore it for now? 3) Is there a way to force LW to re-scan the incomplete folder, or manually re-load old downloads, for when I am forced to update later? I suppose that's all. Any help offered is greatly appreciated. ![]() |

![]() Updating should cause absolutely no problem at all!!! But if you update & then change back to opening an older version, then LW may refuse to load the incomplete files depending upon how far back the version is in development. If they refuse to initially load LW 4.12.+ will be able to continue files from last point in downloading. Go to the LW Library window, select the incomplete folder, hold SHIFT key as you select the 1st to last file in the incomplete folder & then press the Resume button. This will force them back into the download window. For only LW 4.12.+ they will resume from where they were. BTW other reasons why you might be having your problem: Downlds refuse to reload (click on link) |

![]() I'm pretty sure I'm not reverting to an older version, unless it's doing it automatically. I assure you, I'm doing nothing to cause it to revert. Also, I always make sure Limewire shuts down properly before shutting my comp down (except in the event of a crash), nor have I ever touched the .dat file. Both times my pending downloads have been lost have been upon restarting Limewire after updating. While my comp has crashed a couple times with Limewire running, there seemed to have been no adverse affects on anything, as my downloads were still there upon restarting LW. While the information on restarting old downloads from the Monitor screen is highly useful and pretty well solves my problem, I figured I should reply to thank you and to allow anyone else with the same problem I've been having (as minor as it's been) easy access to answers. Thanks again for the very prompt reply. ![]() |
