Unhappy "Evil" Limewire Setup dialogue.

I have a screen-shot, that should help considering i've yet to see one here XD

and the manual way:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...limedamnit.jpg

Alright, problem? Everything is running smoothly.
I have one of the newest versions of Java, I'm running a brand-new labtop will lots of reserve memory... lotsa ram and like pretty much empty 80 gig hardrive, and i havnt surfed on any sites that mess up computers IE pornographic sites.

I am running norton anti-virus, the one u buy (i bought it, its not cracked)

My problem, if u look at the photo or follow the link to the photo, is a strange one.

It downloaded fine... then it asked me if i would like to run it. I said "Yes... most certainly give me free things", but i got that **** setup dialogue box, which leaves me with two options.

A) X the box (which shuts-down my useless limewire)
or B) Do nothing and watch that damned green strip bounce back and forth.
C) Repeat "A" or "B"

'What the hell' is all i can say. That and help. Please help.

-Thanks, Driri, the forum *****.

For some it worked to press space to get to the next screen

Think this looks like about the same problem (you not getting any choices to get to next screen)

Did you onfigure your Norton firewall 1st to allow LW full access? Configuring Norton Internet Security. Also make sure your XP firewall is disabled if you're running Norton. Otherwise the 2 will clash.

What brand & model of modem/router do you have? It may be related to an internal NAT firewall your connection device has. If your device supports UPnP then enable it.

AFAIK I think if your firewalls are already configured you don't have the problems with the setup dialogue.

Maybe i disabled norton antivirus wrong... everything is frickin disabled... *hangs head*
And i still get that damned window where i have to press the space bar... then of course its a dead end and limewire shutsdown as u know.

I removed java, and limewire, and got rid of norton (i think... perhaps a more detailed explanation on how to remove it would be helpful... i dunno... might not be the problem)

And reinstalled limewire to the same result.

Now what do i do.

That is what i disabled... i honestly dont know how to work this new version of norton-anti-virus. I'm starting to think thats not what i should have disabled (most cause it did nothing).

Try disabling Norton completely. Don't have it myself but usually right-click on norton symbol in system tray and choose disable

You can disconnect from the internet while doing it

then restart the PC and try installing limewire again

This is of course temporary. Just to see if Norton is somehow blocking the installation process
