![]() I know both these programs come with their own un-installer, but I've run into an issue that's quite perplexing to say the least. Neither un-installer for either program will work. The reason I need to un-install is because for as long as I have remnants of these programs on my computer, future installations won't be successful. (Last night I tried d/ling Limewire and Frostwire twice and the programs will not initialize.) I thought if I eliminated the folders and deleted all related programs from my computer, that would get rid of it but I can tell even now that I still have traces of it in my system because every time I try to re-install, there's a problem. Now that I can't go through the programs to actually un-install the software (because they've been deleted), what steps can I take to make sure that the software of both programs is totally gone? |

![]() From your post I assume you have already used START>Search>For Files and Folders.... to look for any remaining parts of the programs?!! If so and you have deleted those remaining parts after uninstralling via the usual way, that should it be acutually. Next on the list would be to search for the " LimeWire" preference folder and delete it as well (look here under Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire on how to do this): http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=36420 After you have done so, go and search for the LW/FW Incomplete and Shared Folder. Delete those both as well if still present. Last but not least, if everything else is done yet the problem not solved, Open the Windows registry (but only if you're computer sawy) via Run...>regedit and go through the lists deleting all references for LW/FW. But I actually believe that with applying the other steps beforehand, your problem should be solved by then before having to use the regedit option.... ![]()

![]() Yes, I went through all the steps. What I found was that there was a particular program on my computer (which is now gone, Praise the Lord), that identified Limewire/Frostwire as adware and thus prevented it from being installed. Once I got rid of that and re-installed, everything was cool. |
