Default How do I find out what type of internet connection I have?

Hi,

When installing, Limewire asked me what type of internet connection I have - T1, Modem, Cable/DSL, or T3 or higher. I have no idea - how do I find out? (I couldn't find it in Internet Options or Phone and Modem Options in the Control Panel.) I have broadband, but I'm not sure what speed it is. At the time I chose 'Modem', but I don't know if that's right. And if it's wrong, can I change it in Limewire or will I have to re-install it? Thanks.

Do a speed test (with only your browser open)

These couple of posts below explain a bit about speeds & should help you to set your speed in LW. You can change your speed by going to tools > options > speed. Click Apply & Ok to save any changes. No need to reinstall

There's some good info in the thread below, about setting up your LW for best performance. Check out the first few posts by murasame.
