Got limewire to work again by letting the pro version 4.12.3 install it's own java environment. It automatically goes back to java update 3. I had six installed and it would not open (just a splash screen and then nothing....sound familiar?) Uninstalled java and limewire...then reinstalled using just the limewire installer. It installed java and then presto! I was able to run the application! Hope this helps for those with similar issues!
