Default upgrades outdated can't reinstall limewire

hi everyone joined the forums just for this question so i hope somone can help. i bought limewire pro a while back. it worked ok but my computer crashed so i have to reload it. when i went to the page to download limewire it said upgrades outdated bacuase i wa past the 6 month period. now i can't dowload limewire at all. even though i paid $20 for it 6 months ago it wants another $14 to get upgraded.

That sounds right. When you buy Pro, you get free updates for 6 months but it's up to you to save any installers that you want to use later on.
If you haven't saved the Pro installer then you'll have to buy again or use the basic (free) version.

well what if there is nothing you could do to save it like "a computer crash" so now i have to pay for a program i already bought once. that sounds like a rip to me anyway to get the old installer downloaded on to my computer. i don't want the new versions i would be happy with the one i had.

I guess that's where backing up comes in. If you've got things backed up to CD or an external hard drive then they're safe if there's a crash. It's the user's responsibility to back up their files.
Unfortunately the LW site doesn't have old versions for download.

That's just the way it goes I'm afraid.
Maybe there should be some extra info on the LW site, making it clear that anyone who buys Pro is responsible for the safety of the installers that they download.
