![]() I am thinking of going for the Pro version of Limewire and wanted to know from other users if it is worth the money? Also, is it a one time charge of $18.88 for the program and one year worth of support and after that, the programs stops working? Thanks |
| ||||
![]() Depending on your Internet speed. low speed No, High speed yes. Also it's 6 months of support not a year. Remember to save all installers (upd*ates), because you will only be able to download the newest one from the site. Remember to get it here: www.limewire.com as all other sites offering it are scamsites. For more info use the search. This has been discussed lots of times. Just search for Pro+worth etc. |

![]() I still have as many "need more sources" with Pro as with the free version. I realize that it has some to do with the connections that a host will allow but even trying to download multiple versions from different hosts, most of the time it asks for more sources and the speed is not what I would think it would be for my broadband connection. |

![]() Are files stuck connecting for ages before showing need more sources? If that's what you're seeing then it sounds like you're trying to download fake files. These things are all over the network now & it makes no difference whether you're using basic or Pro....they'll still appear. Search again, vary your search terms, try the All Types search. Stay away from files with lots of sources, go for a file with 10 sources or less, or those with a modem source. For movies, always check a file before download with Bitzi. A file with heaps of sources but no Bitzi rating is often a fake. How to use Bitzi For music, try the tips in this thread How to find music And for some general info about these fakes Info about fake files |

![]() When I am able to finally download, say a movie, I most often get a error in windows explorer or media player saying that it has encountered an error and has to shut down. The file won't play so then the download is no good. Is there a codec that I am missing or are the files corrupted? |
| ||||
![]() Either is possible..... Though with the WMP it's quite likely that it is a codecs issue. You could try to use a different media player such as the free VLC player with built-in codecs which can play almost all media files without problems. You can download it from here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ As a side note, to preview files with it you'll have to open the files directly from the Incomplete folder and not via the LW preview function. ![]()
