Red face error copying file or folder

I can NOT install LW. the following error messages appear....Cannot copy Limewire, access is denied, make sure the diskis not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use.
When I try to delete LW win from documents and folders, I get the following, Access denied make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that file is not in use.
Java is 1.5.0 version.
I like other users was having problems with Limewire dissappearing after only a short time in use, I was beginning to think that it was my lack of use that triggered the problem. Help me please................XRAFFO

Are you sure you're logged in with administator priviledges?

Normally reinstalling LW will remove the previous version of LW. And the normal way to uninstall LW without the reinstallation is by going to the Start menu -> Programs > LW > Uninstall.

To fix the problem you had, try steps 1, 2, 3 & 5 here Fixes for Limewire

Oh I forgot to mention, use the Control-alt-del keys to bring up Process Manager & ensure there is no LW listed. If yes, force it to quit.

Default problem installing

item 1.....My Java is 1.5.
item 2.....I have finally removed all folders.
item 5.....I do not have a Limewire since removing the program.
I am the administrator.
there is nothing showing for Limewire when I hit Ctr, Alt...Del
This is why I require assistance to installLimewire and each time I download Limewire and try to install it, the error messages begin again........"cannot copy Limewire access is denied" etc, etc, etc.....

Alternative: download the "Other" version listed on the LW download page (one at the bottom) & simply unzip & use. Unzip it & use. So then there's no installation necessary.

Default error copying file or folder

I clicked on "Other" and have all the files in a folder, "Which one do I click on in order to use the program"

Default error after downloading 'OTHER'

OK I tried and successfully downloaded from OTHER, I clicked on Stub installer and everything went fine, then I clicked on installer and received the following..............This installation is corrupted, Please download and install Limewire again...............I removed everything that I could then again downloaded from Other, the same thing happened with the same error message after clicking on Installer. I'm really getting frustrated.

AFAIK it's not an installer per se. I've never tried using it myself, but from one of the software devs: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...25&postcount=7
I presume you still have Java 1.5 installed. It might be wise removing "all" java versions installed, then reinstalling using the "Offline" java installer.

If there's only one way to find out, try it for myself. Simple, (a) download, (b) unzip, (c) Open folder & click on LimeWire program which is 156/160 KB in size. (ignore the LW Stub 342 KB & icon 90 KB) By default I show folders by icon, but put it into view mode so you can see what to click)

Unhappy

O.K.....I removed Java 5.0 version 7 and installed Java 5.0 version 9.
downloaded LW from 'other', 6.35 MB and unzipped it. Opened the Limewire icon and received the following.
Limewire has encountered a fatal internal error and will now exit. This is generally caused by a corrupted installation. Please download and install LW again. This is really driving me crazy.........Is there anything else that could cause this; for instance my security programs, Microsoft or Win Anti virus.
