Help, I'm not very technical so I need some simple help. I have windows xp and previously had limewire and had no problem, now, I can';t install my new one, it keeps telling me that a previous version is running. I have tried to uninstall the old one using remove/add programs, but no go. I did the search thing and found lots of limewire files that I tried to uninstall but they wont go, and I'm not sure how to use the cleaner to make them go away. Any help, or ideas Won't work |

Using Add/Remove Programs is the wrong way to remove LW It was ok for very old versions, but not any more (to remove LW, either reinstall a new version, which will automatically uninstall a previous version, or go start > all programs> Limewire > use the uninstall option from there). Open Task manager (ctrl/alt/del) & see if there's a LW process running. If there is, end the process. Once you've ended that process, search for LW files & folders & delete from there. If files still won't delete, reboot your computer & then try. Otherwise, reboot into safe mode & try to delete from there (click the link below). Microsoft Corporation I've never had any probs with LW files being stubborn & not deleting, but just in case: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...elete-all.html |
