Not Receiving Pro/ Received Unknown Bill
 

Hello Limewire Support,
I am a fairly new user that signed up last month. I paid for Limewire Pro in full when I signed but I am not receiving it's use. I keep getting prompted to sign up for it when I open the software and I just received a bill on my credit card for 9.88. Please help and explain. Thanks. David L. Pierce

Exactly who did you "sign up" with? and what currency is 9.88 Limewire pro costs US$18.88 only from www.limewire.com which may well be about UK£9.88, but I'm wondering if you have possibly bought from a scam site.

Appologies if my suspiscions are wrong. If you did indeed buy from Limewire ..had you used basic, which is free, previously, which is recommended, and did you recieve two emails from Limewire, a receipt and a link to your personal down load page. If you did do NOT paste them here :)

Thanks for the reply. I actually went through the limewire site, hit the English button, and then hit the "Get it Now" button and then went through the process. The software has Limwire on it and I have the limewire icon on my desktop. However, after looking at your response I checked out the actually address and it is on your rogue list - mp3musichq - it seems that the 9.88 is for spy ware and all though it says I have paid for the limewire pro I don't get it. I guess my question would be how can I go through the limewire site to sign up and end up with this rogue? Anyway, thanks for your timely response.

mp3musichq is a rogue site/scam site & have absolutely nothing to do with the official LW site. Best would be to try to get a refund 1st from where you paid your money. The following link may have some clues/suggestions about how to go about this get your $$$ BACK!!! (music members)

What if you've rec'd charges for both Livewire and the rogue sites? Does that mean you were charged for downloading within limewire?

@sumpfin good. You do not download within Limewire. You download from other people using the Gnutella network. Limewire is just one of the applications you can use to do that. You can also use Bearshare, Phex, Frostwire, and several others.Limewire is free to download for the basic version, the Pro version costs a small amount which in many cases will give you better performance, but is regarded by many as a contribution to the well earned develompent costs. The money for Pro if bought off www.limewire.com goes to Limewire.

Scam sites charge, so they say, for the (totally useless) tutorials and (otherwise worthless) technical support they promise. It is a rip off and none of the money goes to the Network or Limewire. It is simple fraud.
