uninstall i downloaded limewire a few days ago, and then deleted it. but today when i tried to download it again i couldnt. a box popped up that said that limewire was still in use. but i checked the tray at the bottom right corner of my computer and limewire isnt there. i found it in my c drive, but i cant open it and i cant delete it. HELP! |
Open task manager (ctrl-alt-del) & see if there's any LW process running. If there is, end the process. When you uninstalled LW before, did you do it thru add/remove programs? That can cause problems. The correct way to uninstall is via start > all programs > LimeWire & use the uninstall option there. Usually, installing a new version will automatically remove the old version. If you can't install a new version, you might have to use your computer's search to look for LW files & folders & delete that way. |
Junior Member Hi Birdy, I'm having the same problem and none of the suggestions go gave have worked. The message I get is "Cannot delet files. Cannot read from the source file or disk". I Have also gotten the dmessage "Windows cannot access the specified devise, path or file. You may not have approval or permission to access." Any other suggestions? |
Try deleting the file in safe mode. Or check out the post below for links to some tools. I've used both Unlocker & DelinvFile (ask-leo link) & they worked well:) http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...35&postcount=2 |
