Hi this is my 1st. need to use the forum and I'm open to some help. I'm trying to upgrade LW Pro 4.12.11. I am using Shuttle X PC with WIN XP, 2.07 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP.
I keep getting the same error message an no error number, "Error openning file for writing" C:Programfiles/limewire/genericwindowsutilities.dll

I've tried everything I could think of with my basic knowledge, I emptied the cache, started over from scratch, read everything I could find but I couldn't find anything on this basic problem. Thanks, cappie

Try going to Start/control Panel/Add Remove Programs and uninstall Java all versions. Then click on the Java button in my sig and get Java use the manual download link and save the Java offline installer to your desktop. Reboot your computer then install java using the installer you saved to your desktop.
