Vista will not work Guys You have probably done the same as I have and that is try try try and read. The reading I have done at the microsoft site is Vista is build to never allow peer sharing programs so until someone smarter than Me has a solution I think We are shot down. Skip: |

I doubt that Vista blocks P2P. I still use LimeWire and Asureus with no problem's. Who is your ISP? Are you using a router? what Firewalls? Usually when LimeWire just stops connecting all of the sudden it means your ISP has started blocking or shaping P2P traffic. |

earthlink no router uninstalled norton and windows firewall is off.And its not that i cant get it to connect it doesnt open anymore if it does it crashes my computer i wish it was a connecting problem that would be easyer .and it did work till windows started updating nothing new with isp.... |

Not a connecting problem When i posted this i must of said the wrong thing.I dont have a connecting problem.Limewire use to work for about 2 weeks or so when i bought my new computer. Then out of the blue it stoped working as in LimeWire will not open up as in starting or booting. It makes it to the little box that says loading Interface and then shuts it self down. Some times it makes it to the part that says tip of the day if it makes it that far it freezes my computer up and i have to shut down by power botton because keyboard (ctrl alt delete) to task manger to shut it down dont work windows key dont work.I have done everthing i have read in these forms as in first post.I have window vista home premium.AMD 64x2 dual core processor 894 mb 32 bit OS Lime Wire 4.12.11 java 1.6.0 .IF theres anything else i need to add to help find whats wrong please let me know.. |

Have you tried uninstalling LimeWire and Java by going to Start/Control Panel/Programs and Features and uninstalling all versions of Java and LimeWire. Then re installing Java first using the offline installer then LimeWire using the offline installer. You can get Java at the link below use Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6. Try using the beta version of LimeWire 4.13.2 it has been working for me with no problems. You can get it at the second link. http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml |
