Default Java problem

I wanted to install Java so that I can install Limewire. Now my problem is I can't get the Java installation to work. I went on their site and downloaded Online and Offline Installation packages for Windows. When I double click on the online installation I get the following message:
Abort Java (TM) Installer
To restart the Java (TM) installer, please refresh the web page.

When I double click on the offline installation, I get nothing. I mean I get a pop-up from ZoneAlarm Pro saying if I should allow this application internet access and I click Allow

pls help

Go to your add/remove programs and remove any version of Java you have sitting there...
When you download Limewire Java comes with it, if you do not have it already installed, so download limewire using the offline installer (not the recommend one) and see if that fixes your problem...

Something on your computer doesn't like Java lol...Just try disabling your firewall and AV whilst you are downloading Limewire and see if that helps...

Not usually, not real sure...I know that AVG doesn't as I have it myself...
Just try disabling the firewall for the moment and see if that helps..

No man.. it didn't help... But going back to what you said that remove any version of Java from Add or Remove Programs.. Well when I installed Limewire there was GTK Runtime and then i uninstalled it... Now even though java does not work... when I search it I get many results but nothin is listed in Add or Remove Programs..

Oh...That's strange, because you have to have Java to run Limewire...
But one thing is you need the JRE version of Java...Java has to be there somewhere...lol...
