transfering limewire and saved songs to another computer Hello I have Limewire 4.12.11 and due to a virus on my computer I have to reinstall windows. My problem now is, how do I save/backup limewire and all of my saved songs and then reinstall it on my other computer until I get my virus infected computer back in order? I tried the xp backup and tried to restore limewire and its contents to my second computer(XP), after the restore, I opened up lime wire and my saved songs are not there. I would like to figure out how to do this before I format my harddrive how do I transfer limewire and all of my saved songs to another computer? thanksl |

If you have an mp3 player you can use it to transfer your songs to your new pc. Better yet would be an external hdd. You could use it to transfer any files including programs like LW. Though if you have a virus you'd have to make sure you didn't transfer the virus over with your files. Another way would be to copy all your files to a cd and use them to load the files to your new pc, but if you have a large number of files that way may not be practical. For LW, unless you have a Pro version and your 6 months has run out. You can just d/load the program again from: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml. If not you'll need to copy it to a disc to move it. Windows has a Files and Settings Transfer Wizard, but you still need a hdd or disc to move the files with. coopying limewire to another computer thanks everyone but my main problem is not getting limewire onto another computer, i am trying to figure out how to bring limewire from one computer to the other and leave a "ton" of songs intact. I tried transfering the limewire folder and its contents but found out later that the songs are stored in a shared folder that is outside of the limewire folders. I'll try to bring the limewire folder and the shared folder(songs) together next time and see what happens. don't know if that will work--being that there will be no direct connection between limewire and the shared folder this way. thanks for anymore advice you all can give |
