Exclamation When installation freezes...

Hi

Been having a nightmare for three hours now trying to sort out my limewire. Tried all the options I have read on the forum. Originally had the problem where that error message kept coming up saying 'copy report' and various text data, however following some instrutions from here I have re-installed Java etc and did the BFU execute thing and that all disappeared. I have also delated all the files on my system in relation to Limewire via the seach engine. (Limewire doesnt show in add/remove programmes or my start-programmes) So there is no evidence of Limewire on my computer now and after reboots etc I wanted to start fresh as I knew the Java was correct now.

So...I am still having the same problem in installation. It comes up with ''There is already an exisitng Limewire open please shut before continuing etc'' however there is no Limewire in the bottom right hand corner, there is no Limewire in porgram files, or in add/remove programmes or anywhere. I have tried installing the installation package again but every time it starts installation it seems to work and then freezes and the progress bar flashes very quickly at ''attempting to remove previous version''. So confused as there is no previous version left...

Any ideas???

Thanks

Have a look in your task manager (ctrl-alt-del) and see if it's running in the processes, if it is select the end process now option...

Also have a search for it...Start > Search and type in limewire.exe and see what it comes up with and delete them from there...

Also have a look in your programs folder and your My documents folder and delete anything you see in there....

Hopefully that will do the trick..

I have done all the above and it still freezes at ''trying to remove previous versions' but there is no limewire folder, or in task manager or in search..limewire.exe or anything....
