Error when Attempting to launch

This is the first error I have come across while using LimeWire. I have searched the FAQs and haven't seen anyhting regarding this
I just installed LimeWire on a new machine. When I go to launch the EXE, it starts to come up however, I get an error msg. - " There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive. \Device\Harddisk1\DR\" I am running on Windows 2k Pro.

This is an error with Java that we have not seen for quite some time. Are you sure you have the most updated version of the Java Runtime Environment? It is available at:

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/jre/download-windows.html

I would recommend downloading and installing it, and then trying LimeWire again.

I downloaded and installed the Java script from the link provided however, I am still getting the same error. I have installed LimeWire v 2.1.1 and 1.7 with the same results when trying to launch either one. Any other suggestions to resolve this issue?

This is a very tricky bug to resolve. You can try uniinstalling LimeWire and installing it again, but I can't guarantee this will solve the issue.

Usually just choosing to ignore that message will allow LimeWire to start up normally. Will it still start for you? If LimeWire still starts, then getting this error will not adversely affect your system in any way.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times.... When the error comes up I have the option to Ingnore, Retry , and Cancel howerver, when selecting Retry I get the same error/choices... It usually takes me 5-7 times clicking on Cancel for the error to go away. Just before the error appears I can see the application come up but its only for a second or two.

The only suggestin I can make is to open the file called "limewire.props" in your LimeWire installation directory and choose another directory for the "SAVE_DIRECTORY" setting. Choose a directory not near the root, like c:\\Program Files\\LimeWire\\Shared.

Also, have you installed Java 1.4 on your own by any chance?

My Limewire.props already has the Sve directory as SAVE_DEFAULT=C:\\Program Files\\LimeWire 1.7\\Shared.

No I haven't installed Java 1.4, where might I be able to download it from?

Ok, I just d/l'ed Java 1.4 and installed it. It appears to resolve the issue. Thank you for your help
