Default Installer Download Problem

I get an error that reads as follows when I try to download the installer;

Quicktime is missing software required to perform this operation. Unfortunately it is not available on the QuickTime server.

A Q appears on the screen after clicking the download button. Does anyone have any ideas.

Right-click the download link and choose the option to save/download the link to disk.

I tried the Right-Click also and got the same message "Save Target As." If you know of any other way to get it I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks.

Unhappy I get the same error message

Yes, I get the same error message, "Quicktime is missing software required to perform this operation. Unfortunately it is not available on the QuickTime server." However, my computer states "Done" in a matter of seconds and I can confirm that nothing has been downloaded.
The right click and save target as trouble shoot also didn't work for me!

Any Ideas?

Default Solution

I recently had this same issue. You probably had unsuccessfully downloaded a corrupt plugin (i.e. from Real Player, Quicktime, Winamp). The result of such a plugin could affect .exe, .pdf, or other files depending on what application you were using.

Follow the following steps in order to resolve this issue:

Go To Start
Go To Run
Type Regedit
Go To HKEY Local Machine
Go To Soft Ware
Go To Microsoft
Go To Internet Explorer
Go To Plugins
Go To Extension
Right click on Extension and click on delete

I was initially hesitant to delete this file. But I found confirmed that this file is not needed.
