Windows Problems with installing LimeWire or WireShare for Windows users |

FWIW, this has not helped me. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, and was originally using Limewire 4.16 on XP. I installed it on my new laptop running Windows 7, and it would never open; never even get to the splash screen. I downloaded a new install of LW 5.5, and now it gets to the "Squeezing Lemons" part of the splash screen, but the progress bar never gets past around 80%. Then, Limewire minimizes for about 2 minutes, then just closes. After it closes, there are no instances in Task Manager. I tried uninstalling Java, then reinstalling. I've also tried installing the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Java together. But still, I can't get it to launch. |

Have you tried right-clicking the LW icon on desktop & changing (1) compatibility mode, (2) change to run as administrator ? One option is Reinstallation Technique however that offline installer link for LW is inactive presently. You can find an offline LW installer link from Birdy's post: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/open-d...tml#post354839 |
