Installation Problems Apparently there is a very large bug in your Windows installation. I have downloaded, tried to install, removed, redownloaded, tried to reinstall several times, all to no avail. I do not want to reset all new items on my single computer. I am not networked and do not know how to set up for a network, nor do I feel I should have to. I keep getting
"This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package. C\: Windows\Temp\_is20C2\Lime Wire\2.3.1.msi."
I have tried fixes listed as far as running dcomcnfg.exe it does not run because I have to reset my computer networking capabilities and file sharing protocols.
Any step by step help in this situation.

P.S. Other programs (WinMX, Morpheus) download install and run. I did not have to read forum reports or go through major system changes. May I suggest rewriting your install or at least a complete step by step guide for windows users since it seems to be a major problem if you would read the forums. |
