Angry Errors

Nothing but HDMODULES errors and more errors with version 1.4. Be warned I also picked up a record 5 Trojan Horses!!!!
I cannot even go back to version 1.32.
Does anyone have an idea how to remove Cracker.exe. Also how can I reload the original Xolox 1.32 which worked and crashed only just four or five times a night?

Xolox is not responsable for the fact that you downloaded trojan horses. I can not exactly tell you how to remove a specific virus, as there are too many in existance to be counted. The non beta version of Xolox should still be available for download. You may want to consider that viruses can interfear with you computer's ability to run programs properly. These effects are often different from program to program.

Downloading a file from the Gnutella network can't install a virus, worm, trojan horse, etc. on your machine. Only running an executable file can do that.

Always run a virus scanner on executable files before running them on your machine. Files that contain only data and no executable code (e.g. MP3, ZIP, MPG, JPG, AVI, MOV, GIF, WAV, etc.) are always free of virii.

An added point: just because an executable file tests free of known virus programs doesn't mean that the program is not dangerous. Any file--including HTML files containing JavaScript or VBScript--can potentially contain code that will damage your machine's file system.

Downloader beware!

XoloX isn't responsible for your own ignorance in downloading files, not to mention I won't even begin to ask what you thought cracker.exe was supposed to be. If your computer is infected with virii, or you think it may be, housecall is a reasonably effective scanner for free - this can be found at
http://housecall.antivirus.com

I would recommend you purchase decent anti-virus software anyways, since it's something that you generally will run into at some time.. I myself prefer Norton, although others such as PC-Cillin are popular and effective.
