Default connecting to the network

Since I started using beta 1.45 it just doesn't seem to be able to connect. It has said Connecting to the Gnutella Network for the last 4 hours. I was not having this problem till I installed the new beta version. Any help?
Thanks DSilver

Angry

I returned to version 1.41 and my connection problems disappeared I was immediately connected to 8 of 11 hosts. The connection problem will have to be addressed before I return to version 1.45. If anyone has any suggestions I'll certainly be willing to give them a try. Still I love Xolox I think its terrific! Its the only P2P program I use now and I know when 1.45 is debugged it'll be wonderful great work guys!
Thanks DSilver

Default Connection

Same Issue. I am having trouble connecting to more than 2 hosts. Sometimes it gets up to 5 but holds them for only a few minutes and drops back to 1 or 2. I am running XP/SP1 with Norton Personal Firewall 2002.

Lightbulb re connection

I'm doing fine with version 1.41 now. I suggest returning to version 1.41 untill the 1.45 beta has been fully debugged. My other question/suggestion was/is have you opened up port 6346 in your Norton's Personal Firewall? If it isn't you won't get a good connection no matter which version of Xolox your running. Go into Nortons see if its on your list of allowed programs. Add it if isn't already there or have Nortons rescan for it. If your not sure do it manually.
Sorry thats bout all the help I can be.

we also were not satisfied with the improvements although a lot of work was put into them. that's the reason an update was never sent, but 1.5 Beta seems pretty promising so far. give it a shot!
