Was it a bomb-making video? lol
Chances are that it was someone in the US military. We still have many troops in Kuwait, (the only country that gives us a discount on fuel), and our planned troop withdrawal from Iraq will swell our ranks in Kuwait. Or it could be another of our allies (seems the US can't put on a decent war without dragging our Aussie friends into it).
Modern warfare is mostly quite boring. Nowadays, an army moves on far more than its stomach. Faster weapons fire more ammo, so more time is spent on re-supply. My ACAV got 3 miles to each gallon of diesel; more modern machinations have not improved on that. In Vietnam there were 15 troops in the rear area for each one of us in the bush; in Iraq the ratio is 25 to 1. ("REMFs" = rear echelon mother f...). Thus, many troops with much free time (though some REMFs work 12 hrs/day). |
