Default Help installing Limewire with JRE 1.4

Hello,
I installed the most recent version of JRE (1.4) for linux. I am using the redhat 7.3 distro and I am having problems installing limewire. This is what i get when using the shell script.

$(as root)# sh ./LimeWireLinux.bin
Preparing to install...
Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive...
Configuring the installer for this system's environment...
No Java virtual machine could be found from your PATH
environment variable. You must install a VM prior to
running this program.

And I did this in the JRE directory
./java -version
java version "1.4.0_01"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.0_01-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.0_01-b03, mixed mode)

So I need some help because at this point I am lost.

You probably don't have the java directories in your path. Open .bash_profile (in your home directory) in an editor and put /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/bin/ and /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/bin/ into your PATH=

What do you get when you type :

which java

?

If it is kaffe, then you will have to do the .bash_profile or .bashrc suggestion listed above.

The reason that is asked is because kaffe is still on your system. Remove that and you will no longer have any problems. Unless you are the "Unregistered" whom posted earlier about their system using "jre1.4.0_01, then your problem is conflicting java versions.
