I WAS ABLE TO INSTALL LIMEWIRE ON MY 9600 MAC RUNNING 0S 9.0 BUT I GOT THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE WHEN I TRY TO LAUNCH IT:

I FOLLOWED YOUR VARIOUS SUGGESTIONS BUT GOT THE SANE RESULT. I TRIED TO CREATE A CONSOLE.TXT FILE FOR YOUR REVIEW BUT RAN INTO THE TWO FOLLOWING PROBLEMS (TYPED IN BOLD). PLEASE ADVISE. TC

I actually have a third one for you to try. It's located at: http://www9.limewire.com/developer/L..._installer.bin
If that one also does not work, there is a way for me to get more information about what's happening. The process is as follows:
1) After launching the installer, check the Trash (sort by modified) and drag the IA_JavaInstaller_(delete)_53687/MacOS (Temp) directory to the Desktop.
I GOT A FILE W/ A DIFFERENT NUMBER
2) Delete the sea_loc file.
3) Edit the install.lax file to change the "stderr" and "stdout" fields to "console.txt." So, they should now read:
WHAT APPLICATION CAN I USE TO OPEN THE FILE FOR EDITING? WHEN I CLICK ON IT LIMEWIRE STARTS TO INSTALL AGAIN.
lax.stderr.redirect=console.txt
and
lax.stdout.redirect=console.txt
4) Save the LW_installer.lax and rerun the installer from the Temp directory.
This should produce a file called console.txt in the directory where you ran the installer. If you attach that file in an e-mail to me at afisk@limepeer.com, I should be able to find out more information. |
