![]() It's a bug that's being sorted out. See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=19197 for the latest news, or search for "could not move to library" and read 250 more entries on this topic. |

![]() I read the posts but no fix...just that nearly everyone is having this problem now. I've paid for this program three times over the last two years and now it is failing. I won't pay again for something that needs so much attention. I wait in line for hours only to get the "could not move to library" and have to start over. |

![]() Hello fiberman I hear the new version should help and is expected out this week (maybe). Did you see anything in the file name that might explain the error? Some of the filenames that couldn't be moved looked fine to me, so I'm guessing there are characters in the filename that don't display but the system dislikes. I haven't seen a pattern, but when I tried another client (Myster or Drumbeat, I think), many files had a mix of characters I'd never seen before. Looks like the p2p network has grown and files named in many other languages are being shared. |

![]() Stief, They had better fix it somehow or all is lost. I went to bed with five files waiting for download only to find that three "could not move to library" and the others waiting for reply. I got nothing. I don't see anything strange about the filename "EDITED.zip" but maybe I can't see any extra characters if they are there. I switched to BearShare and it is working okay but I don't like the crap it loads on my PC and that is why I was paying for Limewire Pro. I guess that I will have to live with it for now. I hope Limewire fixes this problem because most of the posts are about it now. Last edited by 6_pac; April 3rd, 2009 at 10:03 PM. |

![]() I sent an email to support. They still think this is a user problem and not a problem with Limewire. Email follows with my response: Hi Bill, This is usually the result of either downloading a file with an incredibly large name or rogue characters in the name, trying to download to a full disk, or downloading to a directory to which you don't have administrator rights. Please try the following: Press Kill Download Select the Incomplete folder, in the Library, and select Resume. Thanks, Zenzele My Response: Dear Zenzele, Don't get me wrong because I'm a loyal Limewire user and have been over many years and I know a form response when I see it. This is not a problem with my PC or the file....it is Limewire. I switched to BearShare and was able to download the very same files on the very same PC. I don't like BearShare's interface and prefer Limewire but BearShare is working. You can't simply blow this off as a user problem. Please fix it so I can use Limewire. Bill |

![]() I just got a reply from my reply: This is usually the result of either downloading a file with an incredibly large name or rogue characters in the name, trying to download to a full disk, or downloading to a directory to which you don't have administrator rights. Please try the following: Press Kill Download Select the Incomplete folder, in the Library, and select Resume. Thanks, Zenzele Folks! They are not reading the support emails. They see "can not move to library" and send the standard response even to replies. They don't say they are looking into it or the fix is coming in the next version. I only hear that from the moderators. Maybe they are too busy counting the money from Pro sales but they can count me out for now. I really liked Limewire. |

![]() Fair enough. Good luck, and thanks for the info. BTW--did the file download from the same IP? If so, that would really confirm the problem! Sounds like even support doesn't have the a clear answer on the library problem if all they suggest is the resume trick, even though many have said the name cause seems inadequate. I'm getting more steamed the more I think about this, so I'll stop now. Cheers--Stief, and good for you, fiberman! |

![]() I don't know if it was the same IP because like Limewire, BearShare uses multiple downloads. I got four of the six files using BearShare and all were over 300MB. The two failures said they were offline. I don't like BearShare's interface and I have to disable my ZoneAlarm for the free version to work while Limewire Pro works with my ZoneAlarm on. The moderator has posted that a fix may be on the way in a new version. I'll keep checking for a new release of Limewire Pro because I'm paid up for a few more months. |
